The controversy of whether or not birth control is necessary has been a notorious dispute since the start of the women's choice movement. Although there are many views and reasons for women taking birth control, some people still don't believe that the reasons are sufficient enough to allow women the access to birth control. While others are 100 percent pro- birthcontrol. I suppose the choice is yours...Pro's: Very effective against pregnancy if used correctl. Makes menstrual periods more regular and lighter. Decreases menstrual cramps and acne. Makes you less likely to get ovarian and uterine cancer, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts, and anemia.
Con's: Doesn't protect against STDs. Cost or co-pays between $15-$50 per month. Need to remember to take every day at the same time. Can't be used by women with certain medical problems or by women taking certain medications. Can occasionally cause side effects such as nausea, increased appetite, headaches, and, very rarely, blood clots. Need a prescription.

ReplyDeleteBirth control can be good and bad. This topic is very very important because most teens use this as a way not to get pregnant when others use it as a way to control their period. I think either way it is fine just because they are taking precautions which is very responsible.
ReplyDeleteI think that birth control is a good thing and a bad thing. It’s a good thing because it semi-protects girls from getting pregnant. It is bad because it is almost an excuse for having sex when you are young.
ReplyDeleteI think that birth control is both a good thing and a bad thing because girl and guys can both use it as an excuse to have sex because they think that since they are on birth control they cant get pengant. But the reality is is that there is still a chance they could its not a 100 percent fail proof method. I think it is a good thing because it does help to prevent unwanted pregancy and helps to control womens period. Your just have to be careful and use your head when it comes to the topic of sex and whether or not to use birth control. =)
